Whether you're an experienced podcaster or simply have content ideas you're curious to explore, the Creativity Lab's podcasting studio provides a comfortable and functional space for you to record and host your podcast.
Starting your own podcast
Location
The studio is situated on the first floor of the Harry Fairhurst Building and available for booking 9am-4pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 10am-8pm on Tuesday and Thursday.
The Creativity Lab has had a massive impact on our project. It has enabled us to generate authentic student-led content of a high quality. Our student ambassadors love getting involved and it is a great experience for them.

Equipment in the studio
The space features high-spec equipment, including:
- Rode Podcaster Pro 2 mixing desk
- Shure MV7 and Rode microphones
- Essential software like Reaper and Audacity on a dedicated laptop.
Begin podcasting
Regular workshops and a podcasting practical guide are also available for those looking to enhance their podcasting skills.
You are required to undertake an equipment/technical induction prior to your first session beginning.
Once your induction is completed, you'll then be able to start podcasting.
To note, we are not taking bookings for a Podcast induction over the festive period. Bookings will reopen on Monday 6th January 2025.
