Key library dates over the Christmas 2024
Here’s an overview of what happens in the library over December and January, and how it affects you. The information below is in chronological order.

13th December is the last day before vacation starts
Remember to bring your books back before you go as they may still be recalled over the vacation!
If you are eligible for a postal loan or would like any resources sent to you via Scan & Send, the 9th - 13th is the last week in which we have a reasonable chance of fulfilling your request.
17th December (at noon) is the deadline for Campus East booklocker requests, and York Minster Library requests
There is a lunchtime deadline for final requests to go to our booklocker at Campus East: Any uncollected books will be emptied on Friday 20 December and there will be no further requests until January 2nd 2025. Lunchtime on the 17th is also the deadline for final book requests to and from the Minster Library.
18th December is the last day the Labs are open
The Library’s Digital Labs (Creativity Lab & YorCreate) will be closed from 4pm on Wednesday 18th December 2024. YorCreate will reopen on Thursday 2nd January 2025 and the Creativity Lab will reopen Monday 6th January 2025. The 18th is also the last reader appointments for York Minster Library.
19th December is the last chance to request book deliveries from King's Manor Library
If you'd like a book delivered to the Morrell from King's Manor you'll need to request by lunchtime on the 19th.
20th December is the last day King's Manor Library is open
King's Manor Library will chose at 5pm on Friday 20th December, and any books not collected from the holdshelf by lunchtime will be sent back to the Morrell hold-shelf. King's Manor Library will reopen 2nd January.
24th December the main library closes at 4pm
The Morrell, Burton and Fairhurst close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at 8am on the 27th of December.
27th - 30th December the library is open as usual
8am to midnight for the Morrell, noting that we're in Eco-Mode.
31st December - the main library closes at 4pm
The Morrell, Burton and Fairhurst close at 4pm on New Year's Eve, until 2nd January.
2nd January 2025 the library reopens at 8am
Regular 8am - midnight opening until 24/7 returns on the 6th.
6th January - 2nd February the library will be open 24/7
For the exam period we return to 24 hour opening.
