CAHR Scholarships 2024/25

The Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR) is pleased to announce two scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year, one for a student on the MA in Applied Human Rights and one for a student on the LLM in International Human Rights Law and Practice.

Applications for 2024/25 are open until Friday 16 August 2024, 11.59pm BST

Applicants who have received and accepted an offer to study full or part-time on either the MA in Applied Human Rights or the LLM in International Human Rights Law and Practice at the University of York are eligible for these scholarships. The scholarship amount of £3,295 represents a reduction in the students’ tuition fees.

Eligibility

Open to International (including EU) and UK (home) students.

Open to students in the following departments: Centre for Applied Human Rights and York Law School.

Open to full and part-time students.

In order to be eligible you must have received and accepted an offer for a place on one of these CAHR’s two postgraduate courses:

To apply, you must also:

  • demonstrate excellent academic promise, relevant practical experience, and a strong commitment to human rights;
  • have applied to study on the MA in Applied Human Rights or the LLM in International Human Rights Law and Practice at the University of York;
  • confirm that, if you are awarded the scholarship, you will enrol in the MA/LLM programme starting in September 2024 and cover all other study-related costs through alternative means (such as self-funding or external financial support).
How to apply

Application deadline: Friday 16 August 2024, 11.59pm BST

To apply for a scholarship for either programme, please complete the Google form no later than 16th August 2024 at 23:59 BST.

How we allocate

Applications will be assessed on the basis of academic promise, practical experience, and human rights commitment.

The final decision on the award of the scholarship will be made by 31st August 2024.
