Biography

LLB, MRes, PhD, PGCAP (York)

I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of York. With Professor Joe Tomlinson (York Law School) and Professor Simon Haliday (Strathclyde Law School), I’m a founding member and co-Director of the Administrative Fairness Lab. My research interests are focused mainly on social welfare law and policy, administrative law, equality and discrimination law, and local government.

I’m currently working on a range of projects, including:

  • A package of work examining administrative fairness in front-line health care contexts
  • An evaluation of the Universal Credit system 
  • An examination of council tax support and collection policies in Local Government
  • A study examining needs assessment processes under the Care Act 2014
