Immigration judicial reviews
Researchers: Dr Joe Tomlinson and Professor Robert Thomas.
The project, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, looks at how immigration judicial review works in the Upper Tribunal.
The project, with the support of HMCTS and the Senior President of Tribunals, included new access to judicial review court files and interviews with a range of important actors, including judges, representatives, and users of the system.
The report of findings was published in summer 2019 and this material is now being prepared for a monograph, which examines the nature of judicial review in machine bureaucracies.
