Overview

Tom’s PhD considers the everyday privacy practices of emerging adults (aged 18 – 25) to understand how they experience (or construct) privacy, and the role that law plays in these processes. He is using the theories and methodological approaches of Legal Consciousness to shed light on the social development of this demographic, the potential for social change, and the power of law. He is adopting photo-elicitation techniques within his work.
Tom has written a number of articles for the CiLex Journal encouraging students to consider the practical applications of law.
