Dr Jed Meers

LLB, MRes, PhD, PGCAP (York)

Senior Lecturer

I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of York. With Professor Joe Tomlinson (York Law School) and Professor Simon Halliday (Strathclyde Law School) I am a founding member and co-Director of the Administrative Fairness Lab. My research interests are focused mainly on social welfare law and policy, administrative law, equality and discrimination law, and local government.

For an up-to-date list of research publications, please see my page on York Research database. If you are after something that is otherwise behind a paywall, do please get in touch.

I’m currently working on a range of projects, including:

  • A package of work examining administrative fairness in front-line health care contexts
  • An evaluation of the Universal Credit system
  • An examination of council tax support and collection policies in Local Government
  • A study examining needs assessment processes under the Care Act 2014
