End-of-year prize-giving
At the beginning of each academic year we hold a Welcome to York Law School event for the 1st Year undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students. This is also a welcome back to our returning students. During this welcome event we have prize-giving for our previous years' undergraduate students and Student Law Firms. This is joyous for any winners and is encouragement for new undergraduate students along with our returning students.
As YLS has grown over the last 11 years we have been able to award more students in more categories. These categories reflect the external links that YLS has, along with ongoing staff recognition. The increase in the number of awards also reflects the growth of YLS and of the number of students we have had every year.
From 2018/19 we have been able to recognise the hard work of our postgraduate taught (LLM) students. The January graduation event we hold at York Law School provides the ideal time for this annual celebration.
