New partnership to provide a pathway at York Law School for students aiming to qualify as a solicitor
The University of York and The College of Legal Practice are delighted to announce their new partnership to provide a pathway at York Law School for students aiming to qualify as a solicitor through the Solicitor Qualifying Examination (SQE).
This partnership brings the SQE expertise from The College of Legal Practice together with York Law School’s renowned excellence in learning and teaching to create an innovative and career-focused LLM in Professional Legal Practice. The programme incorporates training for both SQE1 and SQE2, and a range of practice-area options focused on employability in the profession. After a comprehensive tender process, York Law School decided to partner with The College of Legal Practice, to integrate their SQE1 preparation materials and MCQs into York’s new LLM to play a key role in preparing their students for the SQE external exams.
Professor Scott Slorach, Director of Learning & Teaching at York Law School stated “From our experience of developing professional programmes, and understanding the challenges of the SQE, the York Law School team see The College of Legal Practice’s SQE materials as a key component of our new programme. There is a great synergy in our respective focus on effective and engaging learning design.”
Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of The College of Legal Practice stated “I am thoroughly delighted that The College of Legal Practice has been chosen to work with York Law School, a leading legal education institution. By selecting our SQE preparation materials, the University of York will be able to give their students the very best preparation for these intense exams.
