Clarion Family Law Prizes: Winners announced
Huge congratulations to Jess Salmon and Tia Kaye, the winners of the 2023-24 Clarion Family Law Prizes.
Jess (pictured with Martin Grange, Partner and Training Principal at Clarion) wins the prize for the highest mark in the Year 2 Family Law module and will be completing a work experience placement with Clarion.
Speaking about the Family Law module, Jess said, “I am honoured to have won this award. Thank you to Claire and MJ for
their guidance and for delivering an exceptional module. The Family Law Module was engaging and thought-provoking and gave me a chance to explore many of the key debates in Family Law. I am looking forward to the Family Law in Practice Module next semester as well as the work experience with Clarion and I would like to thank Clarion for the opportunity.”
Tia Kaye achieved the highest mark for the Year 3 Family Law in Practice module and wins a £150 voucher, kindly provided by Clarion. Tia’s prize was presented at graduation in August 2024.
Tia said, "The Family Law in Practice module was the perfect way to develop my knowledge in an area of law that already interested me, while highlighting what it would be like to practice as a family solicitor. Assisting “clients” with a range of family legal problems,
from children disputes to the validity of wedding ceremonies abroad, showed me the wide range of areas covered by family law solicitors. Alongside the interesting topics covered, knowing there was a prize being offered by Clarion provided extra motivation to put hard work into the module! Learning the law though this unique mock client layout was extremely valuable in showing me that this is an area I'd like to explore during my training contract. I am very grateful to Clarion for their support in making the FLiP module successful!"
Rachel Spencer Robb, Partner and Head of the Family Law Department at Clarion commented “Congratulations to Jess and Tia in achieving fantastic results in their Family Law modules. Clarion is so pleased to be able to continue to sponsor the modules and we
are very proud of the achievements of these two ambitious and hard-working young people, as they should be of themselves. I wish them continued success in the future.”
