The Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of York is delighted to welcome Alain Mielle, Head of Innovation at the Council of Europe, for a series of three talks entitled “Multilingual Communication: From the Nuremberg Trials to the Age of AI”. The talks will look chronologically at the past, present and future, and will be of wide appeal as they trace the technological developments which have facilitated multilingual communication over the decades. Alain will draw on his considerable expertise and experience working for a major international organisation at the forefront of the latest developments in this fascinating field. There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of each session.
