Wednesday 22 November 2023, 2.00PM to 3:00pm
On Wednesday 22nd November 2023, the Department of Language and Linguistic Science will host an employability workshop with Teach First.
Teach First is consistently featured as one of the UK’s top graduate schemes by the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers list. In an increasingly globalised world, there is currently a shortage of modern foreign languages teachers in schools across England. New Spanish and French teachers are particularly needed, due to rising and declining numbers of exams being taken respectively.
Teach First is a route into teaching like no other. As a language graduate you can join the UK's largest teacher training and leadership programme and you’ll get:
The event is open to all language students who are considering a career in teaching.
Join Teach First and become the person you’re meant to be. You’ll have endless new experiences. Develop skills that can take you anywhere. Grow in ways you never imagined. All while giving the children our society is failing the futures they deserve.
Who could you become?
This is your chance to become a leader. To release your potential. To be part of something that matters.
Thinking about what to do next?
Stop thinking about what you should be doing.
Start thinking about who you could become.
This is your chance to make a difference in some of the UK’s poorest communities. With Teach First, you can open up a world of possibilities – for you, and for those you’ll be teaching.
The talk will take place at 14:00–15:00 in B/T/005 (The John Currey Room, Biology T Block, Ground Floor) and there will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
Location: B/T/005 (The John Currey Room)
