The Department of Language and Linguistic Science is pleased to advertise several PhD positions in the Humanities Department at the CITY College, University of York Europe Campus in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The PhD projects will be co-supervised by academics in Language and Linguistic Science (University of York) and the Humanities Department (CITY College). The three projects are in the areas of language attitudes, refugee writing and English language teaching:
- Exploring attitudes towards native and non-native accents of spoken Modern Greek (supervisors: Prof. Carmen Llamas and Dr Zoi Tatsioka)
- Exiled Souls: the question of identity in refugee writings across cultures (supervisors: Dr Ahmed Khaleel and Dr Kalliopi Pasmatzi)
- The use of drama techniques via VR in teaching English pronunciation to EFL learners (supervisors: Prof. Sam Hellmuth and Dr Vicky Papachristou)

The deadline for applications is the 21st April 2023. A number of fee-waiver studentships will be available to qualifying candidates who are applying for full‑time study.
