Holly Shorey, a first-year Linguistics student at the University of York, has just been accepted onto the Laidlaw Scholarship programme. She tells us "I am excited to become a Laidlaw Scholar and start work on a research project on ‘pronoun comprehension in persons with Down Syndrome’, an area that I think will be fascinating. I think that this opportunity will allow me to further my study of linguistics beyond my degree. Also, I'm looking forward to developing my leadership skills within the programme, pushing me to become a well-rounded leader".
