Kamishibai: a centuries-old Japanese multimodal teaching tool still current nowadays.
This article presents “kamishibai” as a versatile, participatory tool for teaching multimodal communication via story-telling. This centuries-old Japanese tradition of engaging multiple literacies through the art of "paper theatre” remains very relevant in today’s classrooms.
