Our department was well represented at York Talks on 8 January 2014, with two professors, Dunstan Brown and Pino Longobardi, presenting their research in the main showcase event. Two of our PhD students, Catherine Laing and Becky Woods, presented in the final of the university-wide postgraduate research student poster competition.

The Department was delighted to host four visits by sixth form students of English Language this week, with over 70 students coming to campus. But these were not just random visits – in every case there was a personal link with a past or present student of our Department.
