The course aims to introduce you to logical techniques that enter into the analysis of meaning in natural language, and then to the extensions of these that constitute semantic theory proper.
The course lasts for one term and is taught for three hours per week.
The basic ground that we cover in this course is the fundamental logical and mathematical tools used in formal semantics of natural language.
We will focus both on the formalism that is required while at the same time gaining the appropriate level of understanding of the organisation of meaning in natural languages.
Teaching materials will be made available.
