Rollout of new Google features

What's new?

New features include:

• File approvals in Google Drive: Request approval on a specific file and lock it to prevent edits while you’re waiting for a response.
• eSignatures in Google Docs: Send and sign documents directly within Google Docs.
• Improvements to Google Meet: Run breakout rooms, polls, transcribe directly into Google Docs and add closed captions to recordings. 
• Co-present in Google Slides: Present alongside others and see speaker notes whilst in Google Meet. 

The new features will be applied to staff and student Google accounts automatically over the course of a week, you don't need to do anything. Please note it is not possible to upgrade associate or non-personal accounts. 

Once your account has been updated the Google apps within your Google Workspace e.g Gmail and Google docs will look the same, you’ll just have some new features to choose from.
