IGDC supports researchers from multiple disciplines to develop their research ideas and projects.

IGDC connects members with upcoming research opportunities through regular updates, and works collaboratively with departments, schools, networks and centres to build on the interdisciplinary potential that exists across the University.

Our goal is to support the development of research that is innovative and interdisciplinary, bringing forward people-focused solutions that address urgent and structural challenges in an increasingly interconnected and complex world.

From idea generation to proposal development

IGDC can facilitate workshops to support the development of new research ideas and relationships - be it exploratory meetings that investigate emerging areas of interest, the development of new networks that bring together members with shared interests from different disciplines, or events focused on specific calls for proposals.

While IGDC will propose events in response to the opportunities that we identify, we also welcome proposals from our members and partners.

Workshops, seminars and events

We host seminars, workshops, lectures and events that support our members to develop and showcase their global development research and to help build interdisciplinary relationships, networks and partnerships.

Please get in touch to propose events based on current research, emerging interests or important themes in global development research or practice. We’re happy to help host in-person or virtual meetings that bring together speakers and participants from within the University and beyond.

Creating connections

Partnership building

IGDC supports the work of the University in developing international partnerships to help transform research through collaboration. Our emphasis is on the development of equitable partnerships and decolonising global research

Network building

IGDC can help develop new networks that support academics from across the University to work together on shared interests in global development challenges or research themes. We also work closely with existing global development networks.
