York historian launches new exhibition

ENGLAND THE FRENCH WARS OF RELIGION, an exhibition organised by Dr Eric Durot at the Old Palace, York Minster, will open on 17 October and run till 21 Nov 2017. Based on newsletters, propaganda and libels - originals or translations from the French - housed at the Old Palace, the exhibition will show that the French Wars of Religion (1562-1598) generated much interest in England because of their potential impact on the delicate political and religious situation in Elizabethan England.
