EURIAS Fellowship success
Dr Jasper Heinzen to be hosted by the Institut d’études avancées in Paris
Dr Jasper Heinzen has been chosen to receive a prestigious EURIAS Fellowship. Hosted by the Institut d’études avancées in Paris, he will carry out research for a book about prisoners of war and the changing meaning of military honour in western Europe during the nineteenth century.
The EURIAS Fellowship runs as part of the EURIAS programme, which aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between scholars from around the world. The fellowship is co-ordinated by NetIAS (Network of European Institutes for Advanced Study) and funded by the European Union.
Dr Heinzen's application was one of 174 initially selected by a panel of experts from 1,000+ applications. For the second stage of the process, applications then passed to the proposed host institutions. Following a successful interview, he was accepted by the Institut d’études avancées. The fellowship will run from September 2017 to the end of June 2018.
