Under Your Nose: The Story of the Black Lesbian and Gay Centre
Event details
The Architectural History and Theory Research Cluster of the Department of History of Art presents a screening of Under Your Nose (2014), a documentary film by Veronica McKenzie, chronicling the extraordinary story of the Black Lesbian and Gay Centre in London (1981-1999), offering vital insights into the infrastructure and racial/queer politics of sexuality and space in 1980s and 1990s Great Britain.
The centre, McKenzie says, fostered many life-affirming friendships and relationships, and was underpinned by the belief in a society that could be truly equal for everyone.
All welcome!
