Speaker(s): Amel Alzakout, Emilie Flower and Kyveli Lignou-Tsamantani
Join us for a Q&A and panel discussion with Amel Alzakout, artist and director of the film "Purple Sea", Emilie Flower, filmmaker and CAHR Associate, and Kyveli Lignou-Tsamantani, Associate Lecturer, History of Art, University of York, to discuss the representations of asylum-seeking and migration, issues of visibility, visual ethics and human rights. The event is taking place as part of Yorktivist: Human Rights Film Festival.
The online event is preceded by a free, online screening of the “Purple Sea”, which is a very powerful, poignant and unfortunately still extremely topical film.
You can book tickets for both the screening, the event and all the other events of the York Human Rights Film Festival via the Yorktivist website.
