The Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals forum is a group of PhD students who have a background in nursing, midwifery or an allied health profession. The forum was set up in the recognition that PhD students with such a background may have different needs to other students.
The group aims to offer peer support, share experience and skills, and also to provide recognition and voice to the students, some of whom are not part of a research group. In the past we have managed to organise guest speakers and informal training to meet our needs.
New members are very welcome, this is a student-led group, aimed at PhD students either studying within Health Sciences or working here and studying at another university. Meetings are held monthly, lasting for an hour and a half and on alternating days and times. If you are interested in attending or have any questions please contact us on dohs-hcpforum@york.ac.uk.
