York Trials Unit has a strong track record in methods research and implementing new ways of working to improve trial efficiency.
Collaborative
We work with other CTUs and trial infrastructure initiatives such as the Trials Methodology Research Partnership, UKCRC operational groups, NIHR statistics group and UK Trial Managers Network to improve the design and conduct of trials.
Studies within a trial
YTU is also part of the Trial Forge initiative, which aims to improve trial efficiency and reduce waste in research by increasing the evidence base for trial decision making. Our methods research is primarily focused on the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of randomised controlled trials. We focus on improving trial efficiency using a Studies Within A Trial (SWAT) approach.
