Interested in becoming a CRF committee member?
The CRF organises events for all contract researchers in the department, therefore you don't need to be a member in order to attend our events.
However, if you would like to join our committee to help make decisions about the CRF, we would love to hear from you.
We meet every three months on Zoom and currently have about 12-15 members from across the research groups in Health Sciences. Most members also support either the training working group or networking group, who have more regular sub-meetings specifically focused on supporting these activities.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the CRF Committee, please do contact dohs-crf@york.ac.uk who will provide information about when the next Expressions of Interest will be circulated.
Liina Mansukoski, Research Fellow, Public Health and Society
"I became a member of he CRF to learn more about what the department and the university offer for contract researchers, and to help arrange training and networking events. It's a great way to keep on top of what's going on!"
Alexander Harrison, Research Fellow/Statistician, Cardiovascular Health Group
"I think that the CRF as group add a great deal to the department. The CRF is a community of similar staff type within an extremely diverse department. The forum can inform, assist and guide researchers for possibilities and opportunities for new staff to be involved in. It is even more important now after the years of the pandemic to help introduce staff to the wider department community."
Zohaib Akhter, Research Fellow, York Trials Unit
"My reason to join the contract researcher forum was the fact that it provides a dedicated space, to have a say in professional development, inclusivity and career progression path for those who are PhD students, in early career, or working as a contract researcher in the department. For me, the forum provided networking opportunities to connect more within the department for opportunities related to my professional development, which I found incredibly helpful."
