The lifestyles of high-income countries are key drivers of both environmental change and chronic disease. The climate change agreement signed in Paris in December 2015 commits the UK to significant reductions in national greenhouse gas emissions in order to prevent the worst impacts of global climate change. At the same time, the UK’s public policy challenges relate to behavioural factors – e.g. physical inactivity and unhealthy diet – that form part of a high carbon lifestyle.
A workshop was held in November 2015 to identify and assess UK data sources on environmental (particularly low-carbon) behaviours and health behaviours.
