This study will test the feasibility of running outdoor heritage craft workshops at the YEAR Centre for undergraduate or postgraduate students registered at the University of York. Our primary objective in this feasibility study is to estimate rate of participation, drop-out, and adherence to the offer of outdoor heritage craft. Participants will range from 18 years+, and include all adult students registered on undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at the time of the workshops (spring and summer term 2022-23).

The study aims are to capture feasibility data about:

  • Recruitment rate of participants over two university terms
  • Uptake to and attrition from the workshops
  • Functionality of the data collection platform and completeness of data collection
  • Acceptability of craft workshops
  • Descriptive data (mean. % where appropriate) of demographic characteristics of participants
  • Descriptive data (with mean, standard deviation, where appropriate) of outcome measures to determine likely sample size and power of a future definitive experimental study

This study is funded by the Environmental Sustainability Academy at York (ESAY).
