Biography

Lotty is a practising Occupational Therapist working in university student mental health services. Lotty currently works at the University of Exeter as a mental health mentor.

Lotty will be undertaking research in human-animal interaction and mental health. Her PhD project will explore how autistic adults interact with dogs, how this affects mental health and implications for canine-assisted interventions (CAIs) for autistic service users in mental health and educational settings.

Research

Overview

Lotty's research interests focus on developing understanding of the relationship between autistic adults and dogs, exploring how these interactions affect mental health and well-being. 

Lotty is also interested in the therapeutic applications of human-canine interactions to support neurodiverse adults’ mental health.
