Dr. Aqsa Shafique is a global health and digitalization leader and a skilled medical professional pursuing her PhD in Health Sciences at University of York, UK. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Combined Military Hospital in Lahore, Pakistan, received a Master of Science in Public Health at Health Services Academy in Islamabad, Pakistan, and has experience in leadership roles - including and not limited to; Chair for Sub Regional Training (Training All Leading Enthusiasts), Vice President for Capacity Building UNESCO Chair in Bioethics Students' Association, Assistant Director Edu Life, CMH Lahore, and as Editor for the Junior Doctors Network at the World Medical Association.
A capacity building and training pioneer licensed by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Dr. Shafique brings three years of clinical practice experience in various specialties, telemedicine, digital health, hospital management, and public health. Her achievements like winning the AMEE Student Initiative Grant 2017 also including IPAS (HERstory) 2020 and Brick Builders Grant 2022 together with their teams. Internationally certified trainer in medical education (TMET), capacity building (TNT), peer education (IPET), advocacy and policy making (oAMET), reproductive health including HIV & AIDS (IPAS), disaster medicine (ITDM) and leadership in health emergencies (LHE).
As an active member of multiple organisations, Dr. Shafique held influential positions, initiating a multitude of National and International activities and trainings, contributing to UHC policies, and managing multiple teams towards similar goals and achievements. She has also made significant contributions to education and health empowerment in Pakistan, bridging the gap between medical education and public health arena. She has extended extravagant efforts in addressing research in training for medical professionals in Pakistan, actively engaging assistance towards synopsis and thesis work alongside master’s students. Involved in independent research projects, she is keenly focusing on literature reviews in medical education, public health, health sciences and particularly in mental health and multi-morbidity.
