Biography

Sarah was appointed to the University of York in April 2024 as a Clinical Teaching Fellow for Adult Nursing, a partnership role that promotes links between the University of York and York and Scarborough NHS Foundation Trust. 

The role of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Adult nursing seeks to not only support students in both clinical and academic environments, but also strengthen the partnership between the Trust and the University. In addition to this, the role will support student experience and positively contribute to the future professional workforce.  

Sarah qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1998 from The University of Leeds working initially at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in the field of General Medicine. She then obtained a rotational position within the speciality of Cardiology, working on both the Cardiology wards and Coronary Care Unit. Sarah moved to the York Hospital Coronary Care Unit in 2012.

Sarah then took the opportunity to became Diabetes Inpatient Specialist Nurse. Completing the V300 Non-Medical Prescriber qualification and also the PG Cert in practice education to aid my role as lead on education within the team.

  • ENB 124 in Coronary Care Nursing
  • ENB 998 Teaching & Assessing in Clinical Practice
  • Independent & Supplementary Prescribing for Non-Medical Prescribers V300
  • PG Cert in Practice Education
