Mariya Geneshka is a Research Associate at the Epidemiology and Cancer Statistics Group. She is currently working on the Vivo Biobank, a database of cancer samples of children and young people. Mariya also supervises Master’s level dissertation students interested in conducting observational and systematic review research.
Mariya recently completed her PhD at the Department of Health Sciences, University of York, where she studied the effects of green and blue spaces on multimorbidity using UK Biobank data.
Mariya is interested in the ways different aspects of the surrounding environment, both natural and anthropogenic, affect chronic mental and physical health in adults. In particular, Mariya is interested in examining how this relationship varies between different socio-demographic groups. This will be done by focusing on using quantitative statistical methods in secondary data analysis.
