Stage 3 nursing student Allyson Omoniyi wins joint Volunteer of the Year award

We send our congratulations to Stage 3 nursing student Allyson Omoniyi who recently became the joint recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award with the Caribbean African Health Network (CAHN) UK during Black History Month (BHM) held on the 12 October at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester.

Allyson has been recognised for her dedication and commitment to serving the University community and beyond. This award is a testament to her passion for giving back and making a positive impact in the lives of others. Through her volunteer work with the University, her local community and now CAHN, she has had the opportunity to engage with and support individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering understanding and unity within the community. 

Speaking after the award Allyson reflects “I am grateful for the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to important initiatives and events during Black History Month, celebrating the rich heritage and achievements of the BAME Healthcare Communities. This award serves as motivation for me to continue my Mental Health Nursing studies and my efforts in doing my bit to promote compassion and goodness in the world to the best of my ability.”
