The Department of Health Sciences has placed 5th in the Guardian University Guide 2025 for the subjects of Children’s Nursing and 8th in Mental Health Nursing.

The ranking recognises the quality of our courses, and the experiences and opportunities they provide to our students.

Our Head of Department Kate Flemming said: It is good to see that we are consistently maintaining our position as one of the best departments in the country for nurse education in the Guardian University Guide 2025. Our academic staff and regional NHS and healthcare provider partners work in very close partnership to support our students in reaching their full potential.
