Noreen Mdege, a research fellow based in our Mental Health and Addiction Research Group, has been recognised for the strength of her reviews submitted to academic journals.
The Journal of Clinical Epidemiology has awarded her the title of 'Reviewer of the Year' based on her constructive and helpful review of the paper "Strength and weaknesses of a stepped wedge cluster randomized design: its application in a colorectal cancer follow-up study".
Professor Simon Gilbody says: “This is a real accolade for Noreen. The Journal of Clinical Epidemiology is a leading journal in applied health research, and to be selected for this prize is a mark of international esteem. JCE only asks the best people to review its submissions and I know that Noreen will have beaten some very tough competition. This award reflects well on Noreen, the Department of Health Sciences and the University of York. Peer review is something that most of us do and it is great to see this work recognised.”
Noreen was also named as one of the 'Top Reviewers for 2013' by the journal Research in Social and Administrative Pharmacy. This recognition was earned primarily due to the quality of her reviews and also the quantity of her contributions to the journal.
