Biography
Sangeeta’s background is in social-anthropology and she has a long standing interest in areas of inequalities and health, social policy and citizenship; with a special focus on transnational families of South Asian origin living in the UK. She taught at the University of Western Australia (Anthropology) and worked at the University of Leeds (CRPC) before moving to York.

Overview
Sangeeta's main areas of research interest and expertise relate to inequalities and health, race, ethnicity, citizenship and public policy; reproductive technologies, genetics and global health governance; South Asia (India); embodiment, risk, and resilience; family, kinship, gender and caring; and Ethnographic and biographical methods.
