Biography

  • Trained in medicine at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School, London (MBBS, 1991)
  • Joined the Cancer Epidemiology Unit in Oxford in 1992 originally as an MRC Clinical Training Fellow and subsequently as an Imperial Cancer Research Fund/Cancer Research UK Research Fellow and Research Group Leader; D.Phil, 1998; MFPH, 2000; FFPH, 2008
  • Appointed Reader in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of York (2005)
  • Currently seconded to the Medical Research Council/ Uganda Virus Research Institute, Entebbe, Uganda - expanding the scope of research activity on non-communicable diseases
