Natasha joined the department in 2005 to work on a Department of Health funded project looking at nurses use of technology to aid decision making. She has since worked in the York Trials Unit on a number of different trials which have primarily been based in primary care. Natasha has previously worked on a randomised trial of ELISA testing for food sensitivities and migraine; and a trial on older adults with sub-threshold depression ( ). Natasha is currently working on a randomised trial of screening older women for osteoporosis (SCOOP), assessing the effectiveness of a smoking cessation programme for patients with severe mental health problems, and a trial comparing breathlessness training for patients with malignant lung cancer. Natasha has also worked on a number of education trials which have been funded by the Education Endowment Foundation. Natasha is currently working on a randomised trial of a sexual health promotion intervention for people with Serious Mental Illness (RESPECT) and a qualitative evaluation of direct access to physiotherapists in GP practices. Natasha has experience of using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
