Lindsay’s PhD in Forensic Psychology explored the trajectory of dual harm (co-occurring self-harm and violence) among young adult men in prison, using a mixed-method research design. Complementing this, Lindsay has worked on several projects aiming to understand, manage and prevent violence, self-harm, suicide, and dual harm in UK prisons. She has also contributed to the development of leading practice and policy guidance around suicide prevention and postvention for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Lindsay is currently a Research Associate on the Addressing Mental Health in Custody a Brief Learning Environment (AMICABLE) project, which sits within the Forensic Mental Health research theme. This project aims to develop and evaluate a peer-led problem support mentor scheme to improve mental health and well-being in prison.
Lindsay’s research interests include understanding, managing and preventing violence, self-harm, suicide and dual harm risk in prison.
