Kath is a Senior Lecturer of Public Health Nutrition based at the University of York. She is a Registered Nutritionist and epidemiologist with 18 years experience working in public health intelligence for the UK government with a particular focus on diet and obesity, evaluation methods, inequalities and the social determinants of health.
Her interests include evaluation of public health interventions, child health, food insecurity, dietary patterns across the lifecourse and the impact of social determinants of health on diet quality and obesity. She is passionate about working collaboratively and across the health and social care system and undertaking research to inform public health policy and practice. She has a particular interest in analysis of routinely collected health data for research.
Kath is Partnerships Director for the BaBi network, operational lead for Communications, Networks and Partnerships for the Association of the Study of Obesity and vice chair of the Faculty of Public Health Special Interest Group on Food.
