Emily is a Research Assistant with a strong interest in developmental psychology and psychopathology. She completed her BSc (Hons) Psychology at York St John University. Before graduating, Emily was selected through the Students as Researchers Summer Scheme to work on the Adults with Learning Disabilities in Austerity (ALDA) Study.
After graduating, Emily worked as an Assistant Psychologist at The Retreat and supported the development of a system to record clinical outcome measures and research governance. She completed a Research Internship at the Wolfson Centre for Child Development and Family Research and worked on an ESRC-funded RCT promoting the use of a smart-phone app in improving wellbeing and the quality of infant-mother interaction.
Prior to joining the comBAT team, Emily worked in the NHS supporting the successful completion of two national multi-centre MRC and HTA-funded studies; the Diagnostic Instruments for Autism in Deaf Children Study (DIADS) and the Alleviating Specific Phobias Experienced by Children Trial (ASPECT).
Emily is delighted to continue her journey in child and adolescent mental health research and contribute to the development of low-intensity and accessible interventions for young people with depression through her work on comBAT.
Emily's research interests are in child and adolescent mental health.
