Biography
Catherine has been a Trial Manager at York Trials Unit since 2019. She has an interest in wound care and is currently a co-investigator on the SWHSI-2, VenUS 6 and REDUCE trials looking at treatments for open wounds, venous leg ulcers and prevention of diabetic foot ulceration respectively.
Catherine also has an interest in methods of recruitment and retention for trials. Through this, she is a member of the Trial Forge SWAT Centre and leads the Trial Forge SWAT Network.
Previous to this Catherine worked within YTU as a trial coordinator, trial support officer and research secretary to provide support to a variety of musculoskeletal and mental health research.
Catherine is also keen to share knowledge and experience of trial design and management and has developed and leads the Randomised Controlled Trials Postgraduate module.

Overview
Catherine's research interests include wound care and methodological research including participant recruitment and retention and research conduct through studies within trials (SWATs).

- DISC - Dupuytren's Interventions: Surgery vs Collagenase
- HAMLET - A multicentre, two-arm, non-blinded, pragmatic, parallel group, randomised controlled superiority trial assessing the clinical and cost effectiveness of Through Knee Amputation (TKA) compared to Above Knee Amputation (AKA) in patients requiring major lower limb amputations (MMLA), but who are unsuitable for a Below Knee Amputation (BKA).
