Biography
Amanda Perry is a chartered forensic psychologist and a Senior Lecturer. Her interests focus on the methodological quality of research including systematic reviews, psychometric principles and the development of primary experimental research in offender populations.

Research
Overview
Amanda's research interests lie in systematic reviews, primary research in mental health interventions with offender populations, psychometrics, and suicide and self-harm risk.
Projects
- Systematic review of attachment disorders in young people at risk and diagnosed with attachment problems
- An interrupted time series study investigating the feasibility of implementing a problem solving intervention with offenders at risk of suicide and self-harm behaviour
- A family of four Cochrane Collaboration reviews focusing on the effectiveness of drug treatment for offenders

Available PhD research projects
Amanda would be interested in receiving proposals in the following areas, although no funding is currently available: The development of a new CONSORT Statement for Criminal Justice Trials: A Delphi Methodology, Cochrane systematic review of drug treatments for female offenders, Cochrane systematic review of drug treatments for offenders with mental health problems, Cochrane systematic review of drug treatments for pharmacological interventions with drug using offenders, Cochrane systematic review of drug treatments for non pharmacological treatment with drug using offenders.
Supervision
Amanda would be interested in supervising PhDs in the following areas: suicide and self-harm in prisoners, psychological therapies with prisoners (e.g. problem solving or CBT), quality assessment methodological work with randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews in any area, drug treatments with offenders, systematic reviews or experimental work.
