Biography

Abayomi's background is in General Surgery.

He is Research Associate within the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group, working on the Diabetes and Mental Illness Improving Services and Outcomes (DIAMONDS) Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) and Process Evaluation project.

Abayomi's research interest is in using multidisciplinary multi stakeholder mixed methods approaches to address chronic, non-communicable diseases. His Health Sciences PhD research focused on Cardiovascular Disease in Africans, exploring innovative hypertension intervention development. That work is applicable across chronic non-communicable diseases, various deprivation settings across all income contexts, and in Public Health and Implementation Science.
