Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the online learning solution that is part of Google Workspace for Education. We will use it as our main Virtual Learning Environment for your course.

You can log in at https://classroom.google.com using your University of York IT account; you will be added to the class before your programme starts.

Log in to Google Classroom

Once you log in, you will see that the Classroom is divided into three sections: Stream, Classwork and People. You can navigate between them from the top menu.

Stream

This is the first part of your Classroom: you will see notifications and posts from others here.

You can also use this section to ask questions and interact with the tutors and other students.

Classwork

You will find the following in your Google Classroom:

• Notes and materials for the sessions
• Assignments

For marked assignments, you can take a look at the rubric (detailed performance descriptors) that your work will be assessed against.

You will need to submit your work here.

People

In this section, you can see a list of tutors and students on this course. Use the email icons in the right to send a message to anyone.
