Nancy is the department's Industry Liaison Officer whose role involves interacting with external organisations who are interested in internships and placement opportunities for York Environment students. Nancy holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham in the area of Plant Biotechnology and has worked at the University of York in an administrative role since 2007, joining the Department of Environment and Geography in August 2014.
Managing our Year in Industry programme including acting at the point of contact between host organisations and the University, sourcing placements and carrying out the required risk assessments, assisting students in their applications and supporting them and their academic supervisors during the whole placement process.
Assisting students source and apply for summer internships.
Working with local employers to increase the number of environmental placements available through the University’s Student Internship Bureau.
Acting as the central point of contact within the Environment Department for our alumni.
Working with colleagues in the department to deliver events involving external organisations.
Working with Careers at the University of York to assist students to develop their employability.
