Jenny joined the team in 2017 and is the Industry Liaison Officer within the department with primary responsibility of developing industrial links for both staff and students. She works closely to support the Department of Environment and Geography students with a range of employability queries and is the key contact within the department for careers, placements and internships. Jenny has over 17 years experience in science and education and is passionate about developing the employability skills of students.
Key responsibilities
External engagement - fostering relationships with industry through event organisation and site visits with the goal of developing research collaboration and placement opportunities
Management of placement programmes - process management of Placement Year and Masters Dissertation with Placement modules creating links between industrial partners, students, academic supervisors and university staff. Sourcing placements and aiding students in the application process
Careers Liaison Officer - acting as the main link between Careers and the Environment Department to promote employability related events and raise awareness of Careers.
