Helen is a postdoctoral research associate working on computational modelling of indoor air chemistry. This work with Professor Nicola Carslaw focuses on how the quality of indoor air is influenced by activities such as cooking and cleaning.
Helen joined the department in 2021 and prior to this was working in the field of low temperature plasmas (LTPs), where her particular interest was in simulating chemical kinetics occurring in atmospheric pressure LTPs. Her PhD aimed to more fully understand the chemistry underlying the production and consumption of biorelevant reactive species, such as nitric oxide and ozone, in LTPs for biomedical applications.
