Profile

Biography

I am an interdisciplinary research scientist, seeking to find integrative solutions to landscape-scale environmental management problems.

In my role as a postdoctoral research associate I use ecological and social research methods to investigate the barriers and opportunities for improving environmental management.

This can relate to knowledge about ecology and the environment, policy, communication and engagement, finance and knowledge exchange.

I have recently worked on the identification of indicators and metrics of natural capital condition (Natural England) and the impact of deer on natural capital and carbon in England (Forestry Commission).

Currently, I am researching innovative approaches to communication, engagement and financing for catchment-scale natural flood management.

This research is part of the Defra Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme, working collaboratively with multiple project partners and communities in the Swale, Ure, Nidd and Ouse catchments to deliver the ‘Ousewem’ project (2022-2027).
