Anar is a geographical environmental PhD student in the Department of Environment and Geography of the University of York. Before starting his PhD in 2022, Anar completed his Master degree in Geomorphology in Baku State University. In his MSc project, he studied on the impact of mud volcanoes to the environment in Absheron Peninsula, Azerbaijan.
Moreover, Anar worked as a scientific researcher at the Institute of Geography, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, from 2016 to 2022.
Anar is working on chemical weathering in the Greater Caucasus, Azerbaijan and his thesis is entitled “Subsurface weathering of organic rich sedimentary rock and its impact on the water of rivers: case study on Girdiman River (The Greater Caucasus, Azerbaijan)”. In the frame of his doctoral project, Anar is working on soil, sediment, and water analyses. At the end of his project, he will clarified the interaction among water, soil and sediments during the chemical weathering, and the impact of the weathering to the environment.
